News: Silicone Alternative, Mold Flow, New Press, Video
Kasota, MN (October 4, 2011) – When one of our customers asked for a silicone alternative, we went searching. What we found was an injection moldable material that looks and performs very much like silicone. It actually contains silicone in its chemistry so we expected it to be tough, tear resistant and able to withstand harsh environments but we think that it's the performance of this material combined with its silky texture that really makes it outstanding
Alternative to silicone & TPEs with performance & cosmetic appeal
Just touch the surface of our sample coaster that we made with this material and you can tell that it is different from other elastomers. It grips without being sticky, and so presents an alternative to thermoplastic elastomers whenever there are high demands for performance as well as cosmetic appeal. Request a sample.
Great bonding with multishot or in-mold labels
We have worked with this resin in single shot applications but have also tested its bonding in a multishot (2-shot) environment and found that it bonds exceptionally well to compatible materials such as PC and ABS. Our experience has also shown that it is a great resin for use with in-mold labels. Request a sample and feel the silky texture for yourself.
Mold Flow software added to our tool box
It's not exactly a crystal ball but close to it. Mold Flow simulates the injection molding process to predict the behavior of the material in a proposed mold design. We have added this tool to our in-house capabilities so that we can make the mold design process as exact and as cost effect as possible.
